About the Author

Fred Saberhagen was born on May 18, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois. He was an American science fiction and fantasy author most famous for his ''Beserker'' and Dracula stories. He also wrote a series of post-apocalyptic mytho-magical novels beginning with his popular ''Empire of the East'' and continuing through a long series of ''Swords'' and ''Lost Swords'' novels. He died on June 29, 2007, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
