Product Description

'Key in the lock all right, sir. On the inside. Mr Ackroyd must have locked himself in,'

Poor Roger Ackroyd. He knew that the woman he loved had been harbouring a guilty secret - she poisoned her first husband. And yesterday she killed herself.

But guilty secrets rarely stay secret. Who had been blackmailing her before her death? Had it really driven her to suicide? And would it all be revealed in the letter that arrived in the evening post? Sadly Roger Ackroyd wasn't going to live long enough to find out...

About the Author

Agatha Christie was born on September 15, 1890, in Torquay, Devon, in the southwest part of England. She was a mystery writer who was one of the world's top-selling authors with works like 'Murder on the Orient Express' and 'The Mystery of the Blue Train.' She published her first book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, in 1920; the story focused on the murder of a rich heiress and introduced readers to one of Christie's most famous characters—Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. In 1974, she made her last public appearance for the opening night of the play version of Murder on the Orient Express. She died on January 12, 1976.
