The gates of Willy Wonkas chocolate factory are opening at last . . . and only five children will be allowed inside. Charlie Bucket finds a Golden Ticket which wins him a whole day at Willie Wonka's chocolate factory. The magical day ends when Charlie is given the factory and goes in the Great Glass Elevator to collect his family and to take them to their new home.

A writer of both children's fiction and short stories for adults, Roald Dahl is best known as the author of 1964 children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He married Patricia Neal on 2 July 1953 in New York. They had five children. He died in Oxford, England, on November 23, 1990.
